June 25, 2017 –Snapchat’s new map has stirred a lot of debate, so it definitely deserves to be part of our weekly news.

Introduced for several countries (including Canada), this feature shares your location to your followers. You can, however, choose to go on ghost mode if you do not wish to share your location.

How to go Ghost mode?

Click the settings button on top right corner. It will show you an option Ghost mode, simply check that.

June 29, 2017 –Facebook shared some quick tips to get more out of your Facebook video ads.

  • Try to capture attention within 15 seconds. Vivid colours and recognizable faces help to do that.
  • Your video ads should communicate clearly without sound, but get better or funnier with sound on.
  • Focus on vertical video now.
  • Test your ads at Creative Hub 

LinkedIn Updates its Notification Tab

July 11, 2017 – LinkedIn renewed its notification tab to give users a better experience. You can now get notified about:

Daily Rundown – gives you a summary of the top news

Search appearances– helps you understand how you’re being discovered so that you can optimize your profile for the opportunities you want to be found for.

Soon, you’ll also have the ability to delete notifications that you no longer want to see.

Google Announces ‘Gradient Ventures’

July 11, 2017 –According to Google, “Gradient Ventures a new venture fund with technical mentorship for early-stage startups focused on artificial intelligence.

The intention is to support the interested and able companies by providing them capital, resources, and dedicated access to experts and bootcamps in AI. And yet Google will only take a minority stake in the venture.

That is truly an amazing opportunity for all the AI enthusiasts out there.
