Urgh. Social media. Isn’t that what you’re thinking? You’re no doubt here to learn the secrets, but - and prepare yourself for this - there is no single straight-forward answer. WHHAAATTT???!!! We know, we know. And, we’re sorry to break it to you, but there just isn’t one golden strategy that works.
So, you’re at the fork in the road... you can continue down this path and we’ll give you advice on how we can help create a social media strategy that works for you, and you only, OR... you hit the back button, go running back to Google, and select the next result on the page - you might even go one better and change your keyword search from “social media strategy” to “social media strategy for my business.”
Which is it to be...?
Great! You stayed.
As we iterated before, there is no one such strategy. If there was then everyone would be doing it. The trick is, is to devise a social media strategy based on your audience, your goals, and your objectives. If you already know this information, we can sit with you to create how to utilize this in your social media strategy. But, if you don’t have zip, then we’ll start from scratch.
Quick question: can you name more than 6 social media platforms? If you’re a social media butterfly, then it’s more than likely you can answer that. But, here’s a more difficult question: can you manage more than 6 social media platforms?
The biggest problem facing many companies is this overwhelming need to jump onboard every social media bandwagon. We see it all the time. Social media is a monster to control if not done correctly, and this is why many companies become uninterested with it. Well folks, you need to stop doing that... and stop it now!
Our free piece of advice is to start with 1 or 2 - ideally Facebook and LinkedIn - get good at managing them, then take on social media platform number 3 - i.e. Twitter - get good at that, then if you feel like branching out once again, move on to number 4 - but ONLY if you need too. Any more than that, then you’ll feel like you’re back at square one - unless you have a super-d-duper social media strategy laid out for you.
Well, do you?
